Ekanban's origins lie in the company Orkli S.Coop of the Mondragon Group, a company in the manufacturing industry that is dedicated to the production and commercialisation of components for heating, sanitary hot water, water heating and household appliances. Thus, with the objective of including added value for its products, the ekanban service was born.

Why ekanban?

Orkli, with broad experience in the manufacturing sector, detected a common problem in the supply chain. On many occasions, the flow of information was not of good quality, which became an obstacle for accurately learning the customer's needs. As a consequence, it was difficult to organise the planning for production and supply, and the flow of materials throughout the supply chain was also affected. Thus, Orkli decided to develop ekanban, a digital tool capable of optimising the flow of the supply chain. Thanks to this, nowadays Orkli can guarantee a quality supply, offering the customer the materials that they need, in the quantities they need and right when they need it.Adopting this digital tool has demonstrated the ability to improve the quality of the customer's service. Therefore, what until now was an additional service offered by Orkli is now being transformed into a business that goes beyond Orkli and that is capable of offering solutions to any company in the industrial sector.
